Barber Land is a barber shop in Christchurch City offering a contemporary hub for men’s grooming.

We worked together to create a website that reflected the Barber Land character and provided a high quality experience for their audience.

The Problem

Barber Land needs a website that reflects their unique artistry and exceptional service. As a first impression for many customers, the website needs to showcase the relaxed and caring service that customers will recieve in person while also expressing the shops unique, art deco character.

User Personas

John

John lives in Christchurch city and works as a real estate agent. He gets the same hair cut once a month to keep it short and tidy. He tends to be very busy and prefers to keep things simple to prevent getting stressed.

Wants

  • Book a short back and sides once a month.
  • Appointment to be on time.

  • Slow websites.
  • Poor visibility on mobile.

Collin

Collin is a freelance video editor who lives in Christchurch. He gets his hair and beard trimmed every few weeks. He’s a relaxed guy who loves art and supporting small local businesses.

Ideate

Once the product structure was established, I converted the designs into wireframes and validated them against the research. I collaborated with the product owners to ensure their approval before moving forward with the next steps.

From the moment a user lands on the home page, they can find the CTA, view prices and services and get an understanding of the Barber Land brand.

Book A Cut

The main customer experience is booking an appointment. There are CTA’s in almost every section and in the navbar. Information for walk-ins and phone bookings are also shown.

Prices and services are clearly displayed with CTA’s close by.

Mobile Responsive

As so many users are mobile now, a business like Barber Land needs to be responsive to different devices for user accessibility.

Forms

The form builder enables users to create customized forms by selecting the program, question type, and adding necessary information to a template. They can add as many questions as they need, duplicate previous forms or questions, and send them to suppliers. Additionally, they can reuse previous questions in new forms.
